Almost to the big 100!!

Hi guys! Sorry its been a while (as usual) since I have posted. Hines weighed in today at 92.5 lbs!! He is getting more and more cute every day!! He is just LOVING his new overnight daycare! And we are too!! When he gets home he goes straight to the bed and crashes! :) Last weekend we went to Suds on Sunday. Its a doggie day thing the local brewery does once a month to benefit the Dunedin doggie rescue. He had so much fun with the other pups and we had some cute pics taken! Isn't he a doll?!?!

Also we have had an AWESOME time watching football this year (as always!)! And Hines has had fun rooting for his favorite teams as well!

Before we leave...

We are heading up to PA for a long weekend. Just wanted to post some pics before we go. The pups will be staying with a pupsitter :) Hopefully Hines doesnt get sick this time.

Playing Catch Up!

Sooooooo very sorry for not posting for a while! Amy and I have had an EXTREMELY busy summer! But Hines is doing FABULOUS! You would never know that he is sick to look at him. He is such a happy boy :) He LOVES going to daycare :) He has tons of friends there and he gets soooooo excited soon as we walk through the door. The thrill of his heart is a bit depressing. Amy and I pulled out my stethoscope the other day to give him a listen and we didn't like what we heard. His murmur is much louder than it was initially. But it is what it is... Here are some pics from the last month or so... The beast is really getting big! He is a lil over 80lbs now :)

These next 2 are of HInes on our 17 hour trip to Pennsylvania Labor Day weekend. He and the Schnauzers all did so good!

Oh Hiney...

Amy and I have been on vacation for the past 4 days. When we got home last night we found our 70lb lil nugget not feeling so good. He got out of his kennel with his lil head tucked down and vomited some clear liquid almost immediately. Then I found multiple spots in his kennel. He was having some trouble breathing also. He wouldn't lay down and his lil muzzle was flaring. He was fine that morning, eating all his meal and taking his pill without problem, according to our house sitter. So at 1130 last night we decided to take him to the emergency clinic. When we got there Hines was clearly in distress. After explaining to them his heart condition they took him back for xrays and blood work. After seeing the results of the chest xray the vet suspected pulmonary edema and gave him a dose of IV Lasix. She then put him on an oxygen mask because he was showing signs of hypoxia. Also his white blood cell count was elevated and he had a low grade temp indicating that there is some sort of underlying infection. Possibly pneumonia. They gave him an antibiotic injection, something to help his cough, and decided to keep him overnight for observation.

This morning we picked up our lil Hiney at 7 and headed straight to Dr Todd's clinic. One of Dr Todd's colleagues assessed him and looked at his xrays. He recommended that Hines stay for IV antibiotic therapy, but due to money restraints that wasn't an option at this time (anyone wanna donate to the Hines fund?? lol). Hines is still a bit lethargic and coughing a lot but we decided to bring him home on oral antibiotics for now. Dr Todd will be calling to consult with Hines' cardiologist today for the best (affordable) course of treatment. He ate like a champ when we got home :) Thats a good sign! Now its time for a nap. Will update when we hear from the doc. Please say a little prayer for our cuppycake...

Happy 1/2 Year Old Birthday Hiney!!

Hines is exactly 6 months today! Yay! 6 months and 65lbs!! We spent the morning at the dog park where he was the highlight of the park... as always ;) Our lil guy has some adjustments to make soon. Amy and I will both be working night shift soon. So he will be spending a couple days a week at doggy daycare! He is gonna LOVE it I think. The hardest part may be the long nights without us. At least he had a new friend that will be letting him out at some point during the nights we both work. We will see how it goes... :)

Now he is exhausted and ready for bed :) Mission accomplished!

HInes first trip to the Bark Park :)

Our lil Hiney is getting soooooo BIG!!


We took our 62lb pup to the bark park for the first time the other day... He had so much fun running and chasing the other pups! We couldn't exactly call him a beast at the park though... He was the smallest one there!!! There were a few areas of standing water and we all know how much Hines likes water... LOL Needless to say he had to get a good hose down before he got in the hummer :) It makes us so happy that he gets along with other dogs so well. We cant wait to go back!!!

Still growing...

Over the last 8 weeks Hines has DOUBLED in size!! He is 60.9 lbs now!! He is getting so big!! He is so big and loves the water so much that I can no longer take a shower with the bathroom door open... I discovered that yesterday while I was showering. I felt something on my right hip... I look down... and GUESS WHO!?!?! LOL Hines decided to join me haha.. It was pretty hilarious! Anyway... Hope you enjoy this video of him playing with a grape tomato. He is such a doll...

First Day at the Beach!

We took our 54lb beast to the beach today for the first time. He just LOVED it!!! He would run through the waves splashing about :) He would even swim out where it was over his head. The first time freaked him out a bit but then he was good to go :)

Graduation Time!!

HIP HIP HOORAY!! Hines has graduated puppy class. We are sooo proud of him!! He did really good today. He even had a crowd form watching his sit and stay. I think that its partly because he didn't feel good but we will take it. He now knows watch me, leave it, sit, down, stay, sit and stay, down and stay, come when called, and we started working on heel. :) Such a good boy!!! LOVE HIM!

Pool Time :)

Hines cooled off in his pool again last week! He is still LOVIN the water! And he is getting so big that it looks like we may need a bigger pool here soon! He really liked bobbing for ice cubes :)
